Each year, NAPLAN causes troubling levels of anxiety for thousands of students and parents in grades 3, 5, 7 and 9. Schools and students are unfairly judged on their NAPLAN results and preparation for the test crowds out arts and sports programs for no genuine academic benefit.
A rapidly growing number of parents are withdrawing their children from the NAPLAN testing regime.
We believe every public school should be a great school. Unhealthy competition and mass standardised testing are not helping to achieve that.
This community forum asks - is it time to scrap NAPLAN? All parents, teachers, students and community members are welcome.
